💬 Creating a Group Chat

Create a New Group Chat

  1. Click New Chat

  2. Select Chat Type

    • Private Chat – Visible only to invited members

    • Public Chat – Visible to all members in the workspace

  3. Add members to the group

  4. (Optional) Add a chat description for context

  5. Click Create

By default, newly created chats are Private to prevent accidental data exposure.

Private vs Public Group Chats

Private Group Chat

  • Only invited members can see and join

  • Ideal for:

    • Sensitive topics

    • Management or decision-making chats

  • New members must be explicitly invited

Public Group Chat

  • Visible to all workspace members

  • Ideal for:

    • Shared knowledge discussions

    • Cross-team collaboration

  • Members can join without approval (based on permission settings)

  • Search and select members by name

  • Members receive instant access once added

  • You can invite members during creation or anytime later
