Step 2: Add Data source
Adding data sources allows Saifa Assistant to learn from your business content — so it can provide smarter, more personalized, and context-aware answers. You can upload files, connect existing knowledge, or input data manually.
This step helps you start training your workspace so Saifa can understand your products, services, and brand voice right from the start.
🚀 Step-by-Step Guide
1. Go to “Data Source”
After completing your workspace setup, you’ll automatically move to the Add Data Source page in the onboarding flow. Here you’ll see a message saying:
“No data available”
Click ➕ Add Data Source to begin.

2. Select a Data Source Type
You can choose from three main options:
📄 Upload Document
Add internal files such as PDFs, Word documents, or text files containing product info, FAQs, or policies.
🔗 Add URL
Paste website links (e.g., product pages, blog posts, or help articles) to let Saifa extract key information.
💬 Manual Entry
Type or paste short FAQs or knowledge snippets directly.
💡 Tip: You can mix multiple data source types — for example, upload documents and add URLs in the same workspace.

3. Fill In the Data Source Details
Once you select a data type, fill in the details:
Source Name
Give the data source a name (e.g., “Product Catalog 2025” or “Support FAQs”).
Type
Choose “Document,” “Website,” or “Manual Entry.”
Category
Assign a category like “Customer Service,” “Marketing,” or “Product Info.”
Product (Optional)
Link the data to a specific product if relevant.
Available to All Users
Toggle ON if you want everyone in your workspace to access this data.
When done, click Save Data Source to continue.
🧩 Note: The expanded version view lets you review or update all fields before saving.
4. Review and Confirm Your Uploads
After saving, your data source will appear in the Data Source List. You’ll see:
The name of the data source
Its category and type
Current training status
✅ Status indicators:
🟢 Ready — Data successfully added and ready for training.
🟡 Processing — Data being analyzed.
🔴 Error — File unreadable or URL inaccessible (try re-uploading).
💡 Tip: You can add multiple data sources — Saifa will automatically integrate them during workspace training.

5. Manage or Edit Data Sources
You can edit, delete, or update your data anytime:
Click the ⋮ (three dots) menu beside a data source.
Select Edit, Replace, or Remove.
You can re-train Saifa later if new data is added.
